MADISON, Wis. — Dozens of new Madison Police Department recruits received their badges Thursday as they graduated from the police academy.
Forty-one officers got their badges at Thursday’s ceremony at Madison College’s Mitby Theater, the first such event to be held since 2019 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The celebration of the 66th graduating class featured officers who joined the police force over the past few years, who shared what they’ve seen in the field. It also recognized officers who joined the police force over the past few years who weren’t able to take part in a ceremony.
