MADISON, Wis. — A pedestrian was taken to a hospital after being hit by a vehicle on Madison’s east side during the Tuesday evening rush hour.
Dane County Dispatchers said the crash was reported at 4:57 p.m. near the intersection of Cottage Grove Road and Vernon Avenue.
Madison Fire Departments spokesperson Cynthia Schuster said crews with the Madison Fire Department responded to the scene and have since taken a person to an area hospital for treatment. The city’s police department later said the person who was hospitalized was the pedestrian.
Madison police are also responding to the scene, according to dispatchers.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s 511 map showed traffic in the area had slowed significantly as crews responded to the scene.
Further details about the crash were not available late Tuesday evening.
