MADISON, Wis. — The Dane County Veterans Services agency celebrated the opening of its new office on Madison’s north side Wednesday afternoon.
The new office is located at 1709 Aberg Avenue Suite 2. It’s near other community resources, including the Vet Center and the Department of Workforce Development, and free parking, officials said.
The agency used to be located in the City-County Building downtown.
“We like having a nice triangulation of services that will kind of help to foster a more of a one-stop-shop type of environment for our veterans,” the agency’s director, Daniel Connery, said.
Two conference rooms will be named after veterans with ties to Dane County Veterans Services: Vietnam War veteran and longtime agency officer Michael R. Jackson and World War II veteran and former agency commissioner Marjorie Marshman. Marshman died last month days after celebrating her 100th birthday.
