MADISON, Wis. — Gas prices continue to fall across Wisconsin and the United States, with some gas stations in the Madison area lowering prices to below $3 per gallon.
According to AAA, the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gas in the Badger State is $3.067 as of Friday, down an average of nearly two cents in the past day and nearly 60 cents from a month ago. Diesel prices are down to an average of $4.707 per gallon in Wisconsin, a drop of nearly 38 cents from a month ago.
Friday’s average regular unleaded price is also down $1.86 per gallon from June’s peak of $4.92.
The Madison area is seeing prices slightly above the state average at $3.159 as of Friday, but several stations in the area, including a Woodman’s gas station on the city’s west side, are selling fuel for $2.999 per gallon. One month ago, the average price for regular unleaded in the area was $3.669.
Nationwide, the average gas price for regular unleaded as of Friday is $3.448.
