MADISON, Wis. — The snow may have stopped falling, but it is still causing problems for drivers.
Alternate side parking rules will remain in place through Saturday evening, City of Madison officials said, while crews work to clean up the roads. The rules are in effect from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m.
Plowing work began at around 3 p.m. Friday, and officials said all city streets got an initial plowing by midnight. Work is now underway to push back snow from areas that had been blocked by parked cars and other objects.
Crews will also be applying sand to slippery spots in residential areas, such as hills, curves and intersections. Officials said that city roads are in good winter driving condition, but drivers and bicyclists should still use caution and watch for slippery areas.
The Streets Division will provide further updates as conditions change.
