FITCHBURG, Wis. — Police in Fitchburg are asking the public for help identifying a vehicle and its driver following a shooting that left a man with non-life-threatening injuries late last month.
The shooting, which police said was not a random act, happened Nov. 27 in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 2400 block of High Ridge Trail. Police said the victim was able to drive himself to an area hospital for treatment.

Officers arrested Darius Stewart, 29, of Fitchburg, three days later but are still trying to identify the vehicle he was in around the time of the shooting — a white late 2000s Chrysler 200 — and the driver of that vehicle.
Stewart appeared in court Wednesday on charges of first-degree reckless injury, being a felon in possession of a firearm and criminal damage to property. The court entered a not guilty plea to the misdemeanor criminal damage to property charge and set cash bond at $100,000, online court records show.
He is set to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 20.
