MADISON, Wis. — Madison police arrested a man Friday after they said he hit a woman and blocked her from leaving a hotel room.
Officers were sent to a hotel on West Dayton Street just after 12:30 p.m. The woman told police she was visiting the man, a 35-year-old from Illinois, after the two met on an online dating app.
She reportedly told police the man blocked her from leaving the hotel room, then hit her. The man called hotel security after the woman locked herself in the bathroom.
The woman was able to leave the room after security arrived. The man was arrested without incident.
He faces charges of false imprisonment, disorderly conduct, battery and criminal damage to property. An investigation is ongoing.
