WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. — The Wisconsin State Patrol says a State Trooper was hurt when a driver of a pickup truck lost control and crashed into the Trooper’s squad car early Saturday morning.
The State Patrol says the Trooper was responding to a different crash on I-90/94 in Juneau County near Wisconsin Dells when the driver of a pickup truck lost control as they approached the crash scene, sliding sideways into the State Patrol squad car before rolling over into the median ditch.
The Trooper was seated in the squad car when the collision happened and was taken to the hospital for evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the truck wasn’t hurt despite rolling over. The squad car was significantly damaged, the State Patrol said.
The crash led to one lane of westbound I-90/94 being closed for about an hour overnight. The Juneau County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation into the crash.
