MADISON, Wis. — Tuesday marked the deadline for Madison’s spring election candidates to submit all required papers and forms to the City Clerk’s Office.
However, the city announced an extension Wednesday for candidates running for Alderperson in District 1 and District 14. Candidates in that district now have until 5 p.m. on Jan. 6 to file papers.
The 72-hour extensions were triggered because incumbents not running for re-election did not file a declaration of non-candidacy. The deadline was extended based on advice from the City Attorney.
Outside of those city districts, the ballot for April’s election is becoming more clear. Below is a list of candidates who have filed the needed papers to run for office in Madison this spring.
