MADISON, Wis. — Forward Madison is bringing back a key squad member for the 2023 season.
Andrew Wheeler-Omiunu re-signed on Tuesday, the club announced. The midfielder made 27 starts last season.

“[Andrew’s] a box-to-box player and his engine is unique to our level,” head coach Matt Glaeser said. “He’s always a very exciting and dynamic player.”
Wheeler-Omiunu tallied 3 assists and 22 interceptions last season, while creating 19 quality chances. He also scored a goal against Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC.
The Massachusetts native played college soccer at Harvard and was drafted 46th overall in 2017 by Atlanta United. He joined FC Tucson in 2019, then spent two seasons with Sacramento Republic FC in the USL Championship.
