MADISON, Wis. — All lanes of the westbound Beltline have reopened after a crash caused significant traffic delays near Old Sauk Road.
Officials with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation said the incident happened around noon Thursday north of Old Sauk Road and south of Greenway Boulevard.
According to Dane County Dispatchers, a car caught fire at the scene, but the exact cause wasn’t immediately clear. An image submitted to News 3 Now by showed a plume of smoke coming from one of the vehicles at the scene.
All lanes of the westbound Beltline were closed for roughly half an hour as crews worked to clear the scene. All lanes had reopened shortly before 1 p.m.
Crews with the Dane County Sheriff’s Office and the Madison Fire Department responded to the scene.
Officials did not immediately have any information about injuries.
