Forecasts for rising Mississippi River levels have prompted officials to suspend camping reservations at three Dubuque County riverside campgrounds. Reservations are suspended for Massey Marina, Mud Lake and Finley’s Landing until further notice. The National Weather Service projects the river could rise above the 17-foot flood stage at Dubuque’s railroad bridge by early April. There is a 90% probability of the river topping the flood stage by April 17th. Conservation officials note that heavy rains could send river levels even higher during the next few weeks.
