Driver Arrested After Fleeing Scene of a Crash

Police say a driver fled the scene after his vehicle struck two pedestrians, injuring one, in Dubuque. 33 year old Andrew Trilk of Dubuque was arrested Saturday in the area of South Grandview and Southern avenues on a charge of leaving the scene of a crash. A report says Trilk made a left turn onto Jackson Street from 20th Street and his vehicle struck two juveniles who were walking across the street. Trilk then drove from the scene. One of the juveniles, an 11-year–old suffered a leg injury and was taken by ambulance to MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center. Trilk also was cited with failure to yield to a pedestrian’s right of way.
