JFC Republicans to begin cutting Evers budget

Hundreds of items which Governor Tony Evers included in his two year state budget plan are on the chopping block at the Capitol this week. Among the policy items the committee’s majority Republicans will remove from the budget on Tuesday include legalized cannabis, paid family leave and Evers’ tax plan. They’ll build their own spending plan from base and expect to have that work completed sometime in June.
