Unemployment figures dropped to new lows this year across the tri-state area, indicating most workers seeking employment had jobs but leaving businesses with fewer options to recruit new employees. In Wisconsin, the unemployment rate in Grant County in April dropped .4% to 2%. Crawford County dropped .6% to 3.2%. Iowa County down .7% to 1.6%. Lafayette County down .4% to 2.5%. In Illinois, the unemployment rate in April in Jo Daviess County fell 1.2% to 3.7%. Dubuque County in Iowa dropped .8% to 2.3% and in Clayton County it dropped 1.7% to 3.4%. In April, low unemployment was a feature across much of Iowa and Wisconsin, with the latter posting an adjusted jobless rate of 2.3%. In Illinois, unemployment last month was 4.2%.
