No injuries were reported from a late-morning house fire in Dubuque County, although the residence is considered a total loss. According to the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Department, emergency personnel responded just after 11am for a structure fire on Carmen Oaks Drive. Deputies arrived at the scene and located an attached garage fully engulfed in flames, with flames spreading into the living quarters. All residents had evacuated prior to arrival. Dubuque County Sgt. Jeremy Mootz said he believed two people were living in the residence. The residence was considered a total loss with $450,000 estimated in damages. The fire remains under investigation and is not considered suspicious. Along with the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Department, fire departments from Sherrill, Asbury, Holy Cross, Farley, Key West and Peosta/Centralia responded to the scene.
