Police say a woman damaged a Dubuque man’s residence and threatened him with a hammer. 35 year old Tanie Wilkinson was arrested around 11:30 a.m. Monday in the 2600 block of Pinard Street on charges of assault while displaying a weapon and fifth-degree criminal mischief. A report says that police responded just before 11 a.m. Monday to the man’s residence. The man told police that he met Wilkinson on Saturday and allowed her to stay at his residence for the weekend. The man was sleeping in his room when Wilkinson came into the room swinging a hammer. Wilkinson used the hammer to hit the door knob to the man’s bedroom door, causing it to break. Wilkinson then started swinging the hammer around, resulting in multiple holes in the wall. Wilkinson attempted to hit the man with the hammer, but he avoided it. The man then left the residence and called police.
