Police said a man struck a woman in the leg with a baseball bat during a disturbance in Dubuque. 32 year old Tyler Brauhn was arrested Tuesday around 6:15pm in the 3200 block of Getty Terrace on charges of domestic assault while displaying a weapon, first-degree attempted burglary, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of a no-contact order. A report says that police responded at approximately 5:50 p.m. Tuesday to the 3200 block of Getty Terrace for a report of an assault. A woman told police her ex-boyfriend, Brauhn, had entered her apartment without permission and assaulted her. During the disturbance, Brauhn picked up a white aluminum baseball bat and swung one time at the woman’s right calf. The woman then picked up the bat and threw it at Brauhn to protect herself. The woman then fled the residence and called police.
