Police on Wednesday arrested a man they said led authorities on a high-speed chase in June after a suspected robbery. 24 year old Gunther Williams of Dubuque was arrested Wednesday on U.S. 61/151 at the Kerper Boulevard exit on a charge of possession of methamphetamine and warrants charging eluding while participating in a felony, second-degree robbery, third-degree burglary, fourth-degree criminal mischief, criminal trespass and four counts of probation violation. Williams was suspected of a robbery earlier in the day when he allegedly led authorities on a high-speed chase June 7. A report says that authorities attempted to stop Williams near the intersection of John F. Kennedy and Hillcrest roads ataround 3:30 a.m. when he drove onto Asbury Road, fleeing the area at a high rate of speed.
