This week is National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week, and the city of Dubuque is reminding residents they may qualify for up to $25-thousand dollars in grant funding to help remove lead hazards from their homes. The grant program is available through the City’s Lead and Healthy Homes Program. Officials say more than 13-hundred homes have already been made lead-safe since the program started in 1997. Eligibility for the grants is partially determined by the age of the home. Residents can begin the grant process by submitting an interest form available on the City of Dubuque website. Call 589- 1724 for more information.
