Dubuque police say a man has been arrested after stealing from two area retailers. 57 year old Bert Collins was arrested at 2:31 a.m. Saturday in the 1800 block of Jackson Street on charges of first-degree robbery, third-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief, trespassing, possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication. A report says police responded to Fas Mart on Central Avenue late Friday after an employee hit a panic button. Upon arrival, officers met with the cashier who said the store had been robbed. The cashier gave officers a description of the suspect, who was later identified as Collins, who allegedly robbed the store of $60 from the cash register. Collins also was seen on cameras entering Dubuque Wine and Spirits earlier Friday evening and was subsequently seen running away from the store around 11:21 p.m. Officers responded to the store, and a worker said a man had entered around that time, grabbed a pack of beer and left without paying.
