Woman Accused Of Infant’s Death Arrested For OWI

A day care provider charged with a child’s death was arrested in Mineral Point Wednesday morning. According to the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office, 31 year old Joanna Ford was arrested after a traffic stop on Maiden Street around 8 a.m. Wednesday. The sheriff’s office reports that she was arrested for first-offense OWI with a passenger under the age of 16. Ford was booked into the Iowa County Jail. Ford is charged with the February 2022 death of 4-month-old Wyatt Hamlin. She recently called for a change in venue in the case, largely based on the amount of social media attention the case has received. However, a judge denied the motion.
