Swatting Call Received Targeting Platteville High School

The Platteville Police Department was the victim of a “SWATing” call this morning.  A computer called 911 to report that there was a shooting at Platteville High School with 7 people injured.Of course, that is NOT true. An Officer was already stationed at the high school and he began to investigate, along with another officer.  However, this event did not happen. An attempt has been made to trace the call. Multiple other schools have received the same call. There is an increased police focus in Platteville school buildings today. The goal of the “SWATing” call is to send the police into a school in full “SWAT” mode.
