Police say a homeless man set a fire in the detached garage where he was sleeping last month. 40 year old Kalin Erickson was arrested around 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Dubuque County Jail on a charge of reckless use of fire or explosives. Reports say police and firefighters responded on November 10 to a small fire in a detached garage in the alley behind the 1600 block of Iowa Street. Traffic camera footage identified Erickson leaving the scene of the garage. Erickson is currently an inmate in the Dubuque County Jail. He was arrested November 17 on an unrelated warrant charging second-degree theft and on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
