A Dubuque woman faces charges in connection with the death of her infant son after police said he was found unresponsive last summer in a home unfit for children. 24 year old Valessa Matlock of Dubuque was arrested at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at her residence on a warrant charging child endangerment leading to death, neglect or abandonment of a dependent person and two counts of child endangerment. A report says that the 2-month-old was found unresponsive June 10 at the family’s residence and subsequently was pronounced dead that day at UnityPoint Health-Finley Hospital.
