Tax Levy Rate To Be Decreased

Dubuque Community Schools officials are decreasing the district’s tax levy rate for the coming fiscal year, and homeowners should see a decrease in the school district portion of their property taxes. School board members on Monday voted unanimously to approve a $179.7 million certified budget for the fiscal year that starts July 1. As part of that budget, the district’s property tax rate will be set at an estimated $13.01 per $1,000 of taxable valuation, a decrease of about $1.50 from the district’s current tax levy rate of $14.51 per $1,000 of taxable valuation.
