Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Grant County

A man from Texico, Illinois has died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Grant County.  Authorities were notified about 3:15 pm Thursday of the accident on Highway 35 and Budworth School Road.  58 year old Joseph Foppe was traveling north on Highway 35 with a large group of other motorcyclists. Witnesses stated it appeared Joseph Froppe slumped over in his seat causing him to leave the road and strike a guardrail, ejecting him from his motorcycle. Witnesses immediately attempted life saving measures, and transported to Grant Regional Health Center where he would be pronounced deceased. Assisting at the scene was the Lancaster police Department, Lancaster EMS, West Grant EMS, Bloomington Fire Department, the County Coroner along with B & M Tire and Towing.
