Former UW-La Crosse Chancellor Joe Gow said he was surprised after a faculty committee recommended to have him removed from his tenured position at the university last week. The committee’s decision was unanimous and sets up a vote for the UW Board of Regents to fire him. Gow was fired from his role as chancellor back in December for engaging in online pornography with his wife Carmen. He has since been on paid leave while awaiting his fate at the university. Gow says the committee’s decision to have him removed comes as a shock. If Chancellor James Beeby agrees to move forward with the committee’s recommendation to fire him, Gow says he will file an appeal with the UW Board of Regents.
