Motorcycle Pursuit In Grant County

Wednesday around 5:30am, a Grant County Deputy was on patrol on Highway 18 in Patch Grove Township, when he observed a motorcycle driving 78mph in a 55mph zone. The deputy initiated a traffic stop and the motorcycle refused to stop. A pursuit ensued and the motorcycle continued east on Highway 18. Speeds during the pursuit reached 123mph. The motorcycle turned north onto Highway 133 and at this point, the deputy was directly behind the motorcycle. 55 year old Alan Achenbach of Bagley, came to a stop and was taken into custody without incident. The rider was arrested and taken to the Grant County Jail. Fennimore Police assisted at the scene. The matter will be referred to the Grant County District Attorney’s Office.
