A public hearing regarding a proposed mask ordinance for the City of Platteville is later this month. The hearing will be Tuesday, October 13th, as part of the Platteville Common Council’s regular business meeting. The ordinance comes as the number of new COVID-19 cases continues to rise in the state and region. The mask ordinance, as written now, would require a face covering for anyone 5 years old or older. Masks would have to be worn whenever in a building open to the public – and in an area of the building open to the public. A copy of the draft ordinance is available on the city’s website – Platteville-dot-org. City officials say those who wish to speak or register – in favor or against the ordinance – should sign up in advance. You’re asked to sign up by 4:30p October 12th by emailing City-of-Platteville-at-Platteville-dot-org.
