Platteville Common Council To Discuss Masks

A public hearing regarding a proposed mask ordinance for the City of Platteville is later this month. The hearing will be Tuesday, October 13^th, as part of the Platteville Common Council’s regular business meeting. The ordinance comes as the number of new COVID-19 cases continues to rise in the state and region. The mask ordinance, as written now, would require a face covering for anyone 5 years old or older. Masks would have to be worn whenever in a building open to the public – and in an area of the building open to the public. A copy of the draft ordinance is available on the city’s website – Platteville-dot-org. City officials say those who wish to speak or register – in favor or against the ordinance – should sign up in advance.
