CDC Recommends Vaccinating Children

A new study from the CDC has state health officials urging the importance of vaccinating children to try and stop outbreaks of preventable diseases. The study shows Wisconsin is behind the rest of the nation in vaccination rates among kindergarteners. It found 92.7 percent of US kindergarteners are vaccinated against measles, mumps and rubella (MMR), while in Wisconsin, 84.4 percent of the same age group is up to date on MMR shots. Wisconsin health officials held a press conference on the study’s findings Thursday. They warned many kids are now at risk for diseases like measles and speculated the pandemic and vaccine hesitancy is playing a role.
