A woman charged with attempted murder for allegedly stabbing an ex-boyfriend in Dubuque has been taken into custody in Illinois. 28 year old Tanetra Giles was arrested by Aurora, Ill., police on a warrant out of Iowa. She has a hearing on Thursday, October 17th, in DuPage County Circuit Court. Giles was wanted on Dubuque County warrants charging attempted murder, domestic assault with the use or display of a dangerous weapon, and several other charges. Giles’ alleged crimes occurred September 15th, when 27 year old Tyshawn Cossom of Dubuque reported that he was at a relative’s home and Giles, his ex-girlfriend, came over and confronted him about a new girlfriend. Cossom reported that Giles stabbed him in the elbow with a knife. She also assaulted him with a beer bottle, and slashed the tires of his car.
