MADISON, Wis. — Applications for a grant program designed to help Wisconsin’s tourism industry are now open.
The Destination Marketing Organization Grant will give groups that promote and develop tourism activities throughout the state a financial boost. The program, which was announced earlier this summer, includes $15 million in funding for those groups working to support the state’s tourism business.
Organizations can receive up to $1 million based on expenses from March 3 2021 to Dec. 31, 2022.
“Wisconsin is the ideal destination for millions of visitors from around the country. That’s why the tourism industry has a significant impact on our economy, our jobs, and our future,” said DOA Secretary Joel Brennan. “Thanks to Governor Evers, these grants will assist tourism organizations as well as the organizations that host meetings, conventions, and events throughout the year for entertainment and the business community.”
The grants will be administered by the Wisconsin Department of Administration. Applications are open through Sept. 29, 2021
Winners will be announced later this fall.
The previously announced funding for the state’s tourism industry also includes funding for movie theaters, lodging businesses, live venues, local investment projects and more.
