TOWNSHIP OF LEWISTON, Wis. — A woman died Sunday afternoon after a tree fell on an off-road vehicle and trapped a woman in Columbia County.
According to a news release, the incident happened around 3:40 p.m. on County Highway O in the Township of Lewiston.
The release said a large red oak tree had fallen onto the vehicle as the woman and her husband were mowing the path.
Officials said life-saving measures were unsuccessful for the woman and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband sustained non-life threatening injuries.
The names of those involved are not being released at this time.
