MADISON, Wis. — A number of south-central Wisconsin school districts will be offering COVID-19 vaccine clinics for students and staff members in the coming days through a partnership with SSM Health.
The health care provider announced Tuesday it plans to begin holding student vaccine clinics for Waunakee students ages 5-11 next week following final authorization from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Students ages 5-11 in the Sun Prairie Area School District will be able to take part in on-site vaccination clinics later in the month.
SSM Health will hold clinics for 400 Waunakee school staff members and first responders to get booster doses on Thursday. The following day, the health care provider will hold a vaccine booster clinic with Sun Prairie schools to offer shots to more than 800 staff members and contractors.
Vaccine clinics are also planned next week in the Lodi and Middleton-Cross Plains school districts. Staff members in the Lodi school district and first responders will be able to get booster doses on Nov. 10 in conjunction with student vaccinations, SSM Health said, while Middleton-Cross Plains staff will be able to get booster doses beginning Nov. 11 as well as Nov. 15 and 16.
On Nov. 12, students and staff members at Madison Country Day School will be able to get vaccines at the school.
More events are in the works with Our Lady Queen of Peace and school districts in Sauk County, SSM Health said in a news release.
