The City of Platteville and the Mining and Rollo Jamison Museum will hold its annual 4th of July celebration with events throughout the day. It begins with the annual Edward Jones Firecracker 5K at the Rollo Jamison Museum with registration at 7:30am. The Kids Run will be at 8am followed by the adult 5K run/walk. The Museum will host its annual Heritage Day from 9am to 4pm plus a reading of the Declaration of Independence at noon, followed by live music from 12:15pm to 4pm. The annual patriotic program will be at 10am. Speakers will be Greg Tremelling and UW-Platteville Chancellor Tammy Evetovich with music by Corey and Ryan Jenny. At Legion Park, the National Anthem will be performed at 9pm to set the stage for the fireworks show at dusk. Â
