A Dubuque man who possessed a firearm as a felon has been sentenced to eight years in federal prison. 32 year old Rosnel Larose was given the prison term in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids after pleading guilty in June to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. U.S. District Court Judge C.J. Williams also ordered Larose to serve a three-year term of supervised release after he is released from prison. A release states that at a plea hearing, Larose admitted that he possessed a firearm in January 2022 after having been convicted of 11 felonies.
