One person was transported following a crash at the intersection of Highway 11 and Highway 35, in Jamestown Township late Saturday morning. 22-year-old Anna Haldiman of Dubuque, IA, was eastbound on Highway 11 at the intersection with Highway 35. At the same time, 56-year-old Brian Denemark of Cascade, IA, was westbound on Highway 11. Denemark was stopped in the intersection waiting for traffic to clear so he could turn south onto Highway 35. The traffic lights for Highway 11 turned from yellow to red, and as Denemark attempted to complete the left turn, Haldiman tried to continue eastbound through the intersection on Highway 11 and collided with Denemark. Haldiman left the roadway and entered the ditch where she struck a tree and flipped onto her passenger side. Denemark sustained minor injuries and refused medical transport after being evaluated at the scene. Denemark’s 22-year-old passenger was not injured. Haldiman sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a Dubuque hospital via ambulance. The crash remains under investigation.
