Lafayette County has 4 confirmed cases with 7 probable cases. No public exposures have been reported. DHS says, the MMR vaccine is the best protection against the measles and people are encouraged to check their vaccination status on the Wisconsin Immunization Registry or contact their local health department or health care provider to check if they have had the vaccine. The Iowa County Health Department along with O’Connell Pharmacy will be hosting a community-wide measles vaccine clinic in Mineral Point on Monday. The clinic runs from noon to five PM at the Mineral Point EMS Rescue Squad Office. Most insurances are accepted and those without insurance are also welcome.
