Benton man seriously injured in motorcycle crash

One person was seriously injured following a motorcycle crash in Grant County Friday evening. The crsah happened on Sandy Hook Road, near Rock Cut Road, in Jamestown Township.  36-year-old Dustin Schemehorn of Benton, was traveling east on Sandy Hook Road at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed. Schemehorn was not wearing protective gear and sustained serious injuries. He was flown from the scene via helicopter to UW-Madison for further treatment. It is believed speed and possible impairment were factors in the crash. Schemehorn was placed under arrest and cited for OWI 3rd offense, and operating without a valid motorcycle endorsement. This incident remains under investigation.
