MADISON, Wis. — Madison police took two teens into custody Tuesday afternoon for their alleged involvement in a burglary on the city’s west side.
Officer responded to the 1000 block of Laurie Drive around 3:15 p.m. for a report of a burglary.
According to an incident report, a neighbor had stopped the two teens after reportedly seeing them enter the victim’s garage while a third juvenile stood around as a lookout. When the neighbor approached them, the juveniles ran off.
Police said they found two of the three teens in the area shortly after the burglary.
The suspects reportedly showed up at the victim’s house while in possession of a power wheelchair, which was left at the scene. Police said they don’t believe it belongs to any of the teens. Officers are working to locate the owner of the wheelchair so they can return it.
