MADISON, Wis. — If you’re heading back to the office this fall for the first time in more than a year, you might be a little anxious yourself.
Doctor Jenna Behm-Lawton is a psychology instructor at Madison College. According to her, anxiety about going back to the office is normal.
She said it’s key to recognize that if you feel that way, others probably do too.
“We look over and our coworker looks cool as a cucumber and we go, ‘Oh, hmm, ok. That person over there is not feeling what I’m feeling.’ But in reality, they likely are and they’re looking back at you going, ‘Hey, they’re not feeling what I’m feeling,’” Behm-Lawton said.
She said cutting yourself some slack and getting back into a routine are good tricks to help yourself move past it.
