FULTON, Wis. — Work is complete on a new solar farm in Rock County, Alliant Energy announced Wednesday.
The 50-megawatt North Rock Solar Project, located in the town of Fulton, features almost 120,000 solar panels over 473 acres of land. The farm is expected to generate power for about 13,000 homes and bring about $6 million in combined shared revenue payments to the town and county.
“The jobs and economic impact created by this project have already benefited our community,” Rock County Board Supervisor Connie Winter said. “We’re really fortunate to be at the forefront of Wisconsin’s energy transformation.”
Construction on the site began in 2021 and was worked on by over 100 operating engineers, carpenters, laborers and electricians. The farm is one of three completed by Alliant this year, including the Wood County and Bear Creek projects.
