A double-decker ferry ride in The Bahamas this week took a scary turn as the vessel tipped over and ultimately sank. Kelly Schissel and her husband of Platteville were two of the 119 passengers onboard. The ferry was on its way to the private Blue Lagoon Island, when everyone on the top floor with Schissel lurched forward, thinking the captain hit the brakes. Schissel said, “It was kind of a slow sink, but because the waves are moving, you would like randomly, the boat would just be like up and then it will go down a little bit, then it would be more steep. It was like literally like the scene on Titanic when people are hanging on to the rails just trying to stay up.” Kelly was separated from her husband during the sinking, and they ended up in separate boats before they reunited onshore. Schissel has not had any updates from the ferry company.
