The Avalon Cinema in Platteville will offer a free holiday movie this week to any viewer who brings in a donation for the local food pantry. The Avalon will show “The Polar Express” at 10 a.m. this Friday. The movie will be free for any viewer who brings in a non-perishable donation for the Platteville Food Pantry or a $1 monetary donation per person. The event is being held in collaboration with Platteville Main Street and Platteville Regional Chamber to raise money for the pantry ahead of the holiday season.
