Authorities say a teenage driver was injured in a single-vehicle crash in Jo Daviess County Wednesday. The 16-year-old girl was taken by ambulance to FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, for treatment of her injuries. According to the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, the girl was driving west on East Townsend Road, just east of South Stockton Road in rural Stockton at around 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, when the vehicle left the roadway and entered a ditch. The vehicle traveled through a fence and struck a tree. The girl was cited with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
