MILWAUKEE — Stephen Colbert popped up at the Milwaukee Brewers game Friday night to apologize for poking fun at the city during a segment on The Late Show last year.
Colbert caught some flak in the Cream City in August of 2020, when a segment on his show about the Democratic National Convention going virtual instead of being held in Milwaukee upset plenty of people in the city.
That led to an on-air apology by Colbert — and an offer by the Brewers to come to Milwaukee to see what made the city so great.

Colbert accepted the invitation and appeared in front of the crowd at American Family Field Friday night — but was again met with boos as he apologized in person.
“Cubbies suck. Go Brewers. Bucks in 6!” Colbert said while trying to win over the crowd.
The on-field apology led to a short delay in the Brewers game, and may have drawn the ire of fans in a different way, as pitcher Brett Anderson gave up 2 runs the next inning after appearing to be frustrated with the delay.
The Late Show airs on weeknights on CBS, immediately following News 3 Now at 10.
