OREGON, Wis. — The Dane County Sheriff’s office says two people were sent to the hospital and a service dog is missing following a crash on Highway D in Oregon Monday evening.
Authorities say the crash happened at about 5:30 p.m. near Netherwood Road.
The department’s initial investigation found a 2015 Ford F150 was driving south on Highway D when it hit the gravel shoulder, over-corrected and crossed the center line before hitting a 2017 Nissan Rogue in the other lane.
The driver of the Nissan Rogue needed to be cut from the vehicle and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Ford F150 was taken to a different hospital after also suffering non-life-threatening injuries.
The sheriff’s office says the driver of the Ford F150 also had a service dog in the truck that ran from the crash area and still has not been found. The dog is described as a brown and white pitbull/terrier mix named Brandie.
Deputies are continuing to search the area using infra-red drones to look for the dog.
Highway D was closed between Highway M and Netherwood Road for about two hours while crews were investigating the crash.
