MADISON, Wis. — Local doctors say Pfizer getting full FDA authorization for its COVID vaccine for anyone ages 16 and up could help remove a mental barrier some people had when it comes to getting vaccinated.
Dr. Bill Hartman from UW Health says recent polls showed 30% of unvaccinated people were hesitant or resistant to getting the vaccine because it had only been approved for emergency use before Monday.
“Words matter to people,” Dr. Hartman said on News 3 Now’s Live at Four. “This full approval was something that some people couldn’t get past. So now with the full approval in place, this is their time to go get green-lighted to get this vaccine in their arm.”
