MADISON, Wis. — Two vehicles caught fire over the weekend after two drivers did burnouts in an eastside parking lot.
Firefighters with the Madison Fire Department responded around 10:30 p.m. Saturday to the 4800 block of Hayes Road for a report of a vehicle fire. When they arrived, crews found one vehicle fully engulfed and another that had caught fire.
The fires were quickly extinguished, but both vehicles were declared a total loss. The vehicles were both rentals.
One of the drivers told firefighters he ran into a nearby hotel lobby to get a fire extinguisher but wasn’t able to find one.
